Anti-theft devices used in motor vehicles are so unsatisfactory that it is easy for a thief to steal a vehicle. The divided battery lock is intended to prevent this. The current can be enabled or switched off by closing with the key. In order to permit the battery to be charged, the lock is divided in two. By closing with the key without the upper part (adaptor) and disconnecting the negative pole the battery can be charged at any time. In order to prevent the positive line from being tapped, a reinforced hose which leads to the starter is integrated in the upper part of the lock (adaptor) around the positive line. The battery lug is thus suitable for all vehicles which require a battery for starting.
