PURPOSE:To obtain the captioned member excellent in both vibration isolating function in the vertical direction and earthquake-proof function in the lateral direction by arranging cords in the rubber portion of an elastic body in such a way that these cords are dispersed in a plane which is substantially parallel to flanges, and in multiple layers. CONSTITUTION:Four cord-reinforced soft plates 3a-3d and one hard plate (iron plate) 4 are alternately laminated while being stuck to one another between an upper flange 1 and a lower flange 2 with their outer peripheries covered with a cylindrical rubber layer 5. A set of four cord-reinforced soft plates 3a-3d are laminated in such a way that the directions of their respective cords are shifted by 90 deg. from one another. In points of a sliding property with respect to adjacent layers, there is little difference between these soft plates 3a-3d and soft layers composed of only rubber or the hard layer of metal plates, etc., and the compression elasticity in the vertical direction is intermediate between those of the soft plate made of rubber alone and the hard plate of the metal plate, etc. Hence, by the proper setting of the longitudinal/lateral arranging density of the cords and the laminating pitch of the hard plates, excellent earthquake-proof and vibration isolating properties can be effected. |
