Process, carrier and test kit for the cultivation and microscopic examination of cells

A process and a carrier for cultivating cells and for the light and electron microscopic examination and imaging of the cultivated cells are proposed, in which a slide made of glass or plastic is coated with a light- and electron-transmitting film of melamine resin. This film simultaneously serves as cell culture substrate and as slide which can be used for electron microscopy. Surprisingly, the native structure of the cells cultivated on this film is retained virtually unchanged even during the subsequent preparation for electron microscopy on the same substrate by fixation, water removal and/or drying.
