<p>In a bar cutting machine which cuts a bar steel stock to a predetermined size, the outer diameter of a bar stock is measured before cutting, the bar stock is cut to a cut length corresponding to a target weight value for billets (S), the weight of the cut billet (S) is measured in a measuring device body (22) within a weight measuring apparatus (16), an error of the measured weight value of the billet from the target weight value is calculated, thereby arithmetically determining a cut length, and the cut length for billets (S) is corrected in correspondence with the error on the basis of the result of the calculation. Cut billets (S) are distributed by a distributing plate (32) in accordance with the weight error.</p> |
