PRODUCTION OF PITCH YARN WEB

PURPOSE:To prevent increase in density of web, to prevent combustion of web resulting from reaction heat and to prevent reduction of operation efficiency caused by high density and the web combustion, by piling pitch yarn on the face of a transporting material while simultaneously carrying out lowering in speed and traverse. CONSTITUTION:A traversing column 10 having an air-nonpermeable peripheral wall and a ratio of crossectional area of a yarn threading hole of the column and a delivered yarn threading hole 14 of a suction gun 9 of >=2.5 is connected to right below the suction gun 9. Pitch yarn is traversed by a traversing column 10 in such a way that traversed yarn has an arrangement angle theta of yarn of preferably <=5 degrees and piled on the face of a transporting material while simultaneously carrying out lowering in speed. The pitch yarn is uniformly arranged and steam generated in a infusibilizing process is scattered to the outside of web so that combustion of low-boiling substances can be prevented.
