This invention relates to: (a) new tetrahydrofuran derivatives having the general formula I: <IMAGE> I wherein either each of R and R' independently represents a hydrogen atom or various hydrocarbon substituents and A represents either a nitrogen containing ring or an alkylammonium salt or an alkylaminoacid rest; (b) a process for the preparation of said compounds and (c) therapeutic compositions containing said compounds as an active ingredient.
