PURPOSE:To form the whole rear pillar in a rigid body such as a separate roll-bar by making the rear quarter panel covering the rear pillar and constituting a closed cross section adhere to the outside of the rear pillar. CONSTITUTION:The rear pillar 1 forms a closed cross section 4 consisting of the rear pillar outer 2 and the rear pillar inner 3 and emphasizes waist line (WL) by providing difference in level (S) at its section connected to the rear fender 5. The rear quarter panel 6 that covers the rear pillar 1 and forms a closed cross section 7 is joined at the outside of the rear pillar 1. As a result of this structure, the parting line of a waist section is made clear and the whole rear pillar can be made to be materialized as a rigid body such as a separate roll-bar. Besides, water can not be allowed to penetrate into the closed cross section 4 between the rear pillar outer and inner 2 and 3 through the aperture 12 of the rear quarter panel 6 by the closed cross section 7 of the rear quarter panel 6. |
