PURPOSE: To obtain a herbicidal composition capable of widely and effectively controlling undesirable plants in transplanted paddy fields at low doses, comprising a mixture, as active ingredient, of a specific pyridine-based compound and a sulfonylurea-based compound. CONSTITUTION: This herbicidal composition comprises a mixture of 2- difluoroethyl-4-(2-methylpropyl)-6-(trifluoromethyl)-3,5-pyridinedicar bothionic acid S,S-dimethyl ester and 5- [[[(4,6-dimethoxy-2-pyrimidinyl) amino]carbonyl]amino]sulfonyl}-1-methyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxylic acid ethyl ester in the weight ratio: the former/latter of (20:1) to (1:2) [pref. (6:1) to (1:2)]. The rates of application of these ingredients are as follows: the pyridinedicarbothioate compound: about 0.01 - about 0.28kg/ha, and the sulfonylurea compound: about 0.005-0.15kg/ha. |
