<p>PURPOSE:To attain transaction corresponding to a card medium with high operability without expanding the constitution of a device by providing the inside of a magnetic card reader with an IC card contact head mechanism to discriminate the card medium and to process it. CONSTITUTION:When a card is inserted into a card insertion port of a magnetic card reader provided with an IC card contact head, the card is detected by a card position detecting means 301 and a pinch roll 102 is driven through a pinch roll control means 302. The position of the moving card is detected by the means 301, the card is set up on the position of the head 103 and then the head 103 is downed by an IC card contact control means 303. A terminal equipment 305 discriminates the fixed information of the card and executes transaction processing when the card is an IC card. When the card is not an IC card, the card is similarly sent to a magnetic head 104. Thereby, transaction processing corresponding to the card medium can be executed with high operability by using the same card insertion prot in common without expanding the constitution.</p> |
