PURPOSE:To improve the steering feeling in a high speed sailing by installing a steering angle controlling mechanism which controls the steering angle of an outboard engine when a boat exceeds a required speed, on a steering power transmission mechanism connecting a rudder with an outboard engine. CONSTITUTION:A rudder 2 is connected with an outboard engine 5 through a steering power transmission mechanism 6. The steering power transmission mechanism 6 is equipped with a steering angle controlling mechanism A which controls the steering angle of the outboard engine 5 when a boat exceeds a required speed. Equipped with the first control member 7 connected to the steering power transmission mechanism 6 and the second control member 9 connected to an accelerator lever 8, the steering angle controlling mechanism A controls the steering angle of the outboard engine 5 by engaging the second control member 9 with the first control member 7 when a boat exceeds a required speed. Since this enables to limit the steering angle of the outboard engine to an angle smaller than the maximum steering angle when a boat is sailing over a required speed, the steering feeling in a high speed sailing as well as the steering performance are improved. |
