<p>PURPOSE: To prevent a brake fluid from spattering in an engine compartment by holding a normal valve element at an open position, and by moving the same to a closed position if a fluid container is removed from a cylinder. CONSTITUTION: A brake fluid container made of a translucent plastic material is fixed to a cylinder 1 by means of an outlet stub 7. A spiral spring 13 is supported at one end on a plate 12, and presses at it's other end a valve element 10 which is therefore brought into press contact with a valve seat 9. If the fluid container 6 is attached to the cylinder 1, brake fluid normally flows freely in a space between a plate member 15 of a spindle 14 and a hole 5. When the container is removed from the cylinder 1, the valve element 10 under influence by the spring 13 closes the outlet, thereby it is possible to prevent the brake fluid from discharging.</p> |
