PURPOSE:To obtain a lighting device which very effectively utilizes the illuminating light by setting the shape of the incidence end plane of individual micro- lenses constituting a fly eye lens to a nearly similar figure to the shape of a lit object. CONSTITUTION:A square drum lens A is used for a micro-lens 17a, the light emitted from a light source 100 enters an incidence plane A1 and goes out in a circle inscribed on the end face of a square at an outgoing plane A2. The end face image on an incidence plane A1 is formed on the outgoing side image forming face 101 of a condenser lens 18. This image (lighting region) 102 is a similar expanded image to the incidence light image of the incidence plane A1, when a translucent lit object (film) is placed at the region 102, the light quantity of the light source 100 is applied to the film with no waste. The circular image of the outgoing light of the outgoing plane A2 is formed on a projection optical system 12. When micro-lenses are collected to constitute a fly eye lens and incidence light images from individual micro-lenses are overlapped and formed, uniform lighting is obtained even if the light distribution characteristic and illuminance distribution of the light source have dispersion. |
