PURPOSE:To obtain a solid magnetic head by forming a glass filling groove whose upper end is positioned underneath an operating gap in the neighborhood part of the operating gap on the plane at the main core half body side of a non-magnetic substrate, and joining first and second core half bodies with glass filled in the groove. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic head is formed so that first glass filling grooves 12, 12 extending in a direction intersecting orthogonally to a gap forming plane on the joining plane of main core half bodies 6, 6 of the non-magnetic substrates 2, 2 constituted on the first and second core half bodies 1a and 1b can be arranged on a line mutually. The filling grooves 12, 12 are formed so that the upper ends of the grooves can be positioned at the upper end of the glass 11 with a low m.p. filled in the lower end of the operating gap, i.e. the upper end of a winding groove 7, and the glass 13, 13 with the low m.p. are filled in its inside, and second glass filling grooves 14, 14 are formed on gap butting planes at the lower ends of the first and second core half bodies 1a and 1b, respectively in a direction to pierce the nonmagnetic substrates 2, 2, the core half bodies 6, 6 and the non-magnetic substrates 3, 3, and the glass 15, 15 with the low m.p. are filled in the inside. |
