<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the injury to a face of a driver at expansion time of an air bag by making the air bag in double structure, joining central parts of the inner and the outer bag in ring with predetermined spaces, providing gas ventilation small holes at the center of the inner bag and a gas ventilation large holes at the outer peripheral part of the inner bag, and forming a buffer part at the central part of the air bag. CONSTITUTION:A gas bag 1 of air bag consists of an outer gas bag 2 and an inner gas bag 3 in double structure, and each base end part 4 is joined so as to be installed at an opening part 5 of a gas generater 14. The gap between the central parts of these gas bags 2, 3 at the driver's side is partially closed by connecting pieces 6 arranged in ring with predetermined spaces. The inner gas bag 3 is provided with gas ventilation small holes 7 at its central part, and with gas ventilation large holes 8 at its outer peripheral part. When the gas is jetted in emergency, the inner gas bag 3 is expanded and meanwhile the outer gas bag 2 is expanded through the gas ventilation large holes 8. The central parts of the gas bags 2, 3 form a buffer part A through the gas ventilation small holes 7, and the part A is brought into contact with the face of a driver so as to effectively prevent the injury of the face due to a strong expansion.</p> |
