The invention allows rapid, automatic and continuous observation of particles in suspension in several liquid samples. The invention provides a device 2 for storing the samples, withdrawal means 12, 22, a means 4 for optical observation of the particles, and means for transporting the samples in order to bring them one after another into the observation position in an observation cell 16. The invention provides for the latter to take the form of an ultra-flat pipe in order to allow rapid gravitational immobilisation of the particles of a chosen sample.
