The check-out includes a feed-in table in which a motor-driven conveyor belt runs. This table connects to a roller table extending in the same direction. The roller table has freely running rollers, and extends past a strip code reader to a scales fitted also with rollers. The scales connect in turn to a feed-out table in which a motor-driven conveyor belt runs. Goods are picked up on the feed-in table, and fed on to the roller table by the feed-in conveyor belt. From the roller table, the goods can be pushed over the scales without being weighted, or after weighing on to the feed-out conveyor belt. Movement on the roller table and scales is effected manually by the cashier. - The scales rest in an upwardly open box fixed to the cash desk, and comprises a weighing unit resting on a plate provided with support legs which are adjustable as to height. The customary weighing plate or bowl on the scales is replaced by a roller plate, the top sides of the rollers being in the same horizontal plane as the top sides of those in the roller table. The weighing unit is electrically connected to a data system of which the check-out forms part, the gross wt. of the goods being shown on an illuminated display. |
