Use of a yarn for articles of protective clothing

The invention specifies the use of a yarn consisting of at least one textile thread which contains metal fibres and other fibres, especially synthetic fibres, the predominant part of the metal fibres or the entire content of metal fibres being arranged in the inner cross-sectional region of the textile thread, whilst the outer cross-sectional region of the textile thread encasing the inner cross-sectional region consists predominantly or solely of skin-compatible fibres, especially natural and/or synthetic fibres, specifically as a woven or knitted material of articles of protective clothing against electromagnetic radiation or interference. The yarn can consist not only of the said textile thread itself, but also of a twine which is produced by using one or more such textile threads.
