PURPOSE:To prevent the elution of silver ions without deactivation of an enzyme with a smaller size by arranging a hydrophilic gel layer for a silver chloride- containing layer of a silver/silver chloride reference electrode. CONSTITUTION:A hydrophilic gel layer 2 is provided on a silver chloride- containing layer 1, which is a silver/silver chloride reference electrode 3 so arranged as to contact an electrolytic liquid through a hydrophilic gel layer 2 and an immobilized enzyme action electrode and the silver/silver chloride electrode 3 are mounted on a flowcell. Then, a gel layer 2 is provided in a layer 1 containing the electrode 3 to eliminate the need for an electrode internal liquid and a liquid junction structure thereby achieving a smaller size. As the layer 1 containing the electrode 3 gets in contact with the electrolytic liquid through the gel layer 2 to prevent the elution of silver ions. This eliminates the deactivation of enzyme of the immobilized enzyme action electrode thereby enabling stable measurement for a long time. |
