PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration in focal point detecting accuracy, which results from the vignetting of a photographing lens and a change in an exit pupil by providing a designation enable range determining means determining a range that a designating means can designate part of a photoelectric conversion element train. CONSTITUTION:A circuit for detecting a switch and displaying DDR is selected when a communication selecting signal CDDR is at a high level, and controlled by a camera controller PRS. Based on a data signal SO transmitted from the camera controller PRS, the display of a camera display DSP is switched, and whether various operational switches on the camera are turned on or off is detected. Moreover, a condition designated by an up switch for detecting a focal point and designating a visual field SWUP and a down switch for detecting a focal point and designating a visual field SWDN is detected to inform the camera controller PRS. The up switch SWUP dsignates part of the photoelectric conversion element train corresponding to a focal point detecting field within a focal point detection enabled range according to the type and attribute of the photographing lens and a zoom location. Thus, the deterioration in forcal point detecting accuracy, which results from the vignetting of a photographing lens and change in the exit pupil, is prevented. |
