This invention relates to novel carboxylic acid esters represented by the formula (I) below, methods for their production and insecticides containing them as an active ingredient, <CHEM> wherein R<1> represents a hydrogen atom, a fluorine atom or a methyl group; and R<2> represents a C1-5 alkyl group, a C3-6 cycloalkyl group, a C3-6 alkenyl group, a C3-6 alkynyl group or a C1-5 haloalkyl group.
