PURPOSE:To perform the clip processing in a short time with a simple operation by decomposing a clip area to segments in the direction of scanning lines of a raster output device and prescribing the clip area with information of decomposed segments. CONSTITUTION:A graphic element and a clip area are given to a clip processing part 1. This clip processing part 1 clips the graphic element by the clip area and develops it to picture elements and stores the clipped graphic element in a memory 2 for description and gives it to a printer device 3 and a CRT display device 4. In the clip processing part 1, the clip area is divided to segments in the scanning direction of the raster output device, and the clip area is prescribed by information of divided segments, and partial information of an object to be clipped is taken out. |
