PURPOSE:To eliminate the release of a catalytic component, by a method where an expanded metal composed of a thin stainless steel plate and having received rolling processing is coated with aluminum oxide and, thereafter, a catalytically active component is applied to the coated metal to be dried and baked to form a denitration catalyst. CONSTITUTION:Aluminum (flame spraying material 3) is applied to the surface of an expanded metal subjected to rolling processing in an oxidizing atmosphere by flame spraying and a catalytically active component 2 is applied to the coated surface. Bubsequently, the coated expanded metal is passed through molding, drying and baking processes to form a plate-shape catalyst 4. This denitration plate-shape catalyst 4 is arranged in a denitration reactor 5 and, after ammonia is mixed with the exhaust gas containing NOx of a boiler as a reducing agent, the gaseous mixture is guided to the reactor 5 by a duct 7 to remove NOx in the exhaust gas. The thickness of the denitration catalyst is set to 0.4-0.7mm. |
