PURPOSE:To appropriately feed toner by a simple structure by providing a partition member between a 1st chamber forming a circulating system with the aid of a developing sleeve and a 2nd chamber containing toner and allowing an interface of a developing soln. to butt the leading edge of the partition member having openings. CONSTITUTION:In a developing device, the 1st chamber forming the circulating system which feeds and circulates a developer D in an agitating part to a development area 10 by the rotation of the developing sleeve 3 and the 2nd chamber 2 containing the toner are divided by a partition 12, and communicate with each other through the opening part 5 of the partition 12. It is set in such a way that the interface of the developer butts the opening position of the partition. When toner concentration drops to reduce the amount of the developer, the interface of the developer retreats, where the toner is supplied to increase the amount of the developer in the 1st chamber 1. When the interface of the developer advances, the circulation of a developer outside layer in the partition opening position 5 hits the partition 12 and is restrained, thereby stopping toner supply. As a result, the toner is feed by the simple structure which does not require complicated control, etc. |
