PURPOSE:To regenerate a ceramic filter of pressure loss only by backwashing without exerting danger on a worker, by applying ultrasonic washing to the ceramic filter element under rotation in a closed box and subsequently rinsing and drying said element. CONSTITUTION:A ceramic filter element 50 is subjected to ultrasonic washing under rotation in the ultrasonic washing tank 13 within a closed box 1 equipped with a feed-in port 2 and a feed-out port 3. Next, the element 50 subjected to ultrasonic washing is rinsed in a rinsing tank 17 and subsequently dried in a drying tank 18. Further, the element 50 is automatically fed in the closed box 1 by a feed mechanism 21. As a result, the ceramic filter element becoming impossible in the recovery of pressure loss only by backwashing can be regenerated without exerting danger on a worker.
