<p>FLOW AMPLIFYING STEERING SYSTEM A power steering system having a hydraulic motor driven by fluid flow from a hand operated pump and a main pump. The hand pump provides input to a control valve which amplifies fluid flow to the hydraulic motor, with fluid from the main pump, in proportion to the flow rate through the hand pump. The degree of amplification is controlled by ports within the control valve which also serve to communicate hand generated fluid pressure to the hydraulic motor. The hand pump will also allow delivery of hand generated fluid pressure to the hydraulic motor in the event of a main hydraulic pump failure.</p> |
