<p>PURPOSE:To execute the invert reproduction of a moving image by executing in-frame encoding even when inter-frame prediction encoding is executed as for a picture element to which in-frame encoding is executed in the next frame, and multiplexing its code to an encoding signal train. CONSTITUTION:As for a picture element to which in-frame encoding is executed in the next frame, even when inter-frame prediction encoding is executed, in- frame encoding is also executed, and its code is multiplexed to an encoding signal train. From a recording medium 10, a multiplexed signal of an inter-frame prediction error signal E, an in-frame encoding signal P and a mode signal S is read out, and those signals are separated by a decoding circuit 20. In the case of an invert reproduction, from the recording medium 10, these signals are outputted from a larger order of a frame number to a smaller order. In the case of the invert reproduction, a timing correcting circuit 30 delays the mode signal S and the inter-frame prediction error signal E by one frame and outputs them, and allows its timing to conform with the timing to the in-frame encoding signal P.</p> |
