PURPOSE:To enhance transferability and printing quality, by incorporating a resin and a wax in the same emulsion in the process of applying an ink layer in emulsion states. CONSTITUTION:In the process of applying an ink made of a wax, a resin, and a colorant 5 in emulsion states on a substrate 1 to form an ink layer 3, the wax and the resin are melted and stirred, thereafter being emulsified to be incorporated in the same emulsion particles. In this manner, at the time of transfer the transfer flow properties of the wax particles and the transferability of the resin or the colorant are enhanced, and a printing quality can be improved. In the use of a thermal head, a heat-resistant protective layer 4 made of silicone resin, fluororesin, epoxy resin, phenol resin, or the like is provided on the surface of the substrate 1 to come into contact with the head, whereby the heat resistance of the substrate 1 can be enhanced. Furthermore, a release layer 2 may be provided between the substrate 1 and the ink layer 3 for improving the adhesive of the ink layer 3 and the releasability of the ink in transfer. |
