<p>PURPOSE:To stop the operation of an electric motor when a trouble occurs by providing means for fixing discs on the steering wheel side and on the steering gear side not to be relatively turned and displaced. CONSTITUTION:Fixing means 21 for engaging a sliding disc 9' on the steering wheel side and a lower disc 6 on the steering gear side in a fixing state are disposed therebetween. The fixing means 21 comprise a plunger 24 urged upward in a pit 22 bored in the lower disc 6 to open upward by a spring 23 and an engaging member 26 which is provided in such a manner as to be freely engaged and disengaged with and from a pit 25 bored adjacent to the pit 22 to open downward. Though the sliding disc 9 is capable of freely turning and displacing relatively to the lower disc 6, when the lower end of the engaging member 6 is moved in the direction of an arrow C, the sliding disc 9 and the lower disc 6 are engaged in a fixing state through the plunger 24 by urging force of the spring 23.</p> |
