PURPOSE:To obtain a member for imparting practically sufficient electric charge to a toner and to improve the quality of picture images of not only white/black but also of color picture images by incorporating a specified hydrazone compd. on the surface of the member. CONSTITUTION:The title member has a hydrazone compd. on its surface. Said hydrazone compd. is selected from a group of compds. expressed by the formulas I, II, and III. In the formulas I and III, each R1-R4 and R6-R9 is an H atom, 1-3C alkyl group, 1-3C alkoxy group, etc.; R5 is an alkyl group or a benzyl group. In the formula II, Ar is a naphthalene or naphthalene homologue, anthracene ring, styryl group or a deriv. thereof, etc.; R is an alkyl group or a benzyl group. Thus, a member for imparting a negative charge to a toner, having suitable characteristic for charging a color toner, and providing distinct picture image quality so distinct as initial picture image even after continuous copy is obtd. |
