PURPOSE:To carry out a power saving operation without deteriorating operation efficiency by providing a means of measuring the generating interval of calls, a means of judging the operating pattern of an elevator, and a means of setting the speed command value of the elevator and carrying out the power saving operation only when a long story floor operation is feasible. CONSTITUTION:Generally, since calls are always generated at the time of operating an elevator with high frequency, the central arithmetic unit 2a of a speed command device 2 carries out the control of ordinary operating times. On the other hand, when the number of riders is reduced causing the operating times of the elevator to be lowered, the number of calls is also reduced. In this case, the generating interval (T) of the calls is detected. Then, by comparing this call generating interval T with a previously set defined value (T0), when T>T0, it is determined to be a slack hour and, when a full speed operation is feasible, a speed command with a lowered acceleration is generated to carry out a power saving operation. Particularly, at the time of operating between long story floors, since the full-speed traveling term is longer than an accelerating/ decelerating term, the increase in traveling time caused by the reduction of acceleration is small. |
