A calendar mechanism can provide a date with a week day regardless of whether the date is of the past or for the future. The mechanism includes fine rollers arranged in parallel to one another and gears engaging with one another in sequence, all being housed in a housing case having rectangular windows. A dial fixed to a roller rotates all the rollers in association to show the day numbers of a month on the respective rollers through the windows. The arrangement of numbers for day, month and year is made by manipulation of the dial.
