PURPOSE: To obtain a device to fit the composite lenses to cornea for correcting the visual acuity by facilitating safe machining again of their profiles after fitting and removal of them, it they need to be corrected further after fitting. CONSTITUTION: The pulsed laser beams are used for measuring the eye profiles, for etching the peripheral sulcus of cornea, and for machining again the lens profiles after fitting. Taking the account of the periphery 52 shape and diameter of the corrected composite lenses 40, the operating conditions of the laser irradiation unit are set to form a shallow peripheral sulcus 54 into the cornea. Using this sulcus 54 so formed, the lenses 40 are fitted to the cornea. If the lens profiles need to be machined again at any time after fitting them 40, for instance, if a myopia state continues or were caused newly, their 40 surface profiles at the central area are again machined by laser etching. This enables, therefore, correction or removal of the lenses, as required. |
