<p>This invention relates to a subcutaneously implanted catheter assembly for therapeutical purpose by charging a medical fluid such as an anti-cancer drug into a body cavity such as a blood vessel. The subcutaneously implanted catheter assembly of the present invention consists of a medical fluid injector having an inlet and an outlet and a catheter connected to the outlet, and the catheter is inserted into a body cavity and left there with the medical fluid injector kept buried under the skin and used. Accordingly, the therapeutical operation can be repeated while the subcutaneously implanted catheter assembly is left inside the body and in comparison with the prior art method wherein a catheter is inserted and removed whenever therapy is conducted, a burden on a patient can be reduced drastically. Moreover, unlike the prior art method which inserts the catheter through the skin, there is no risk o the occurrence of infection during the therapy.</p> |
