PURPOSE:To select developer in accordance with the kind of an original by freely selecting a 1st developing device charged with the developer for reproducing a high-gradation image and a 2nd developing device charged with the developer for reproducing a high-contrast image. CONSTITUTION:The title device is provided with the 1st developing device 3 and the 2nd developing device 4, which are charged with the developer for reproducing the high-gradation image and the developer for reproducing the high-contrast image respectively, and either the developing device 3 or 4 can be selectively used. Therefore, in case of a photograph original, halftone can be delicately reproduced and a copied image faithful to the original can be obtained by selecting the 1st developing device 3 charged with the developer whose gamma value is low and which is excellent in gradation. In case of a character original, a copied image which is contrasty and easy to be viewed can be obtained by selecting the 2nd developing device 4 charged with the developer whose gamma value is high. Thus, the appropriate developer can be selected according to the kind of the original. |
