PURPOSE:To facilitate the change of optical circuit connections and to simplify constitution by rotating a trapezoidal prism the thickness of which is (a), the length of the base 3b, the length of the top side parallel with the base (b) and the lengths of the other two sides 2b respectively. CONSTITUTION:The optical circuit switching element 1 has the trapezoidal prism 3 the length of the base of which is 3b, the length of the top side (b), the length of the other two sides 2b and the thickness (a). The prism 3 is rotata ble counterclockwise with respect to optical terminal equipment 11A-11C around the intersected point A of the bisectors of the interior angles at both ends of the base. The figure indicates the state in which the optical terminal equipment 11A and 11C are opposed and connected one to one and the optical terminal equipment 11b is connected as shown by dotted lines in the element 1 to have the local folding state. The terminal equipment 11A and 11B are connected one to one when the prism is rotated 120 deg. counterclockwise around the driving center point 4 from this state. The terminal equipment 11A-11C are circuit-connected to a loop state when the prism 3 is rotated 60 deg.. |
