An explosive composition comprising a blend of 45 to 95% by weight of the composition of a water-in-oil emulsion comprising a discontinuous aqueous phase comprising at least one oxygen-releasing salt, a continuous water immiscible organic phase and a water-in-oil emulsifying agent; and 5 to 55% by weight of the composition of solid particulate ammonium nitrate and wherein the Brookfield Viscosity of the water-in-oil emulsion is in the range of from 25,000 to 60,000 cps. The composition has the advantage of being collar loadable int water-containing bore-holes. |
