PURPOSE:To permit the application to a monocylindrical type and multicylindrical type hydraulic buffers by fitting a movable wall into a cylinder so that a slidable valve is urged in the direction in which a throttle passage is opened, when the movable wall is in a prescribed range in slidable ways in the axial direction within a prescribed range. CONSTITUTION:Since a slidable wall 11 is within a prescribed slidable range in the case of an ordinary load, the movable wall 16 urges a sliding valve 22 in the direction for opening the orifice passage 24 of a piston rod 5, and the chambers 3 and 4 divided by a piston 2 are allowed to communicate through two passages: the orifice 24 and a passage in which a damping valve 26 is installed. Since the fluid resistance is reduced, and a large quantity of oil flows, the damping force is relatively small. Further, when the load becomes large, and the stroke of the piston 2 exceeds a prescribed magnitude, the movable wall 16 does not slide over a range, and the slidable valve 22 shifts in the direction for closing the orifice passage 24. Therefore, the chambers 3 and 4 communicate only to a passage in which the damping valve 26 is installed, and the flow passage resistance is increased, and a large damping force is obtained. |
