PURPOSE:To reduce the stop noise and the erase noise at the time of sound recording and to improve the erase rate and the distortion factor by magnetizing a part in the vicinity of the tape entrance-side edge with the polarity opposite to that of a single-pole magnetized arcuate surface and magnetizing a tape axit-side side surface with the same polarity and running a magnetic tape in these magnetic fields. CONSTITUTION:A part 8 in the vicinity of a tape entrance-side edge 5 of a single-pole magnetized arcuate surface 4 on a tape entrance-side side surface 3 of an erasing head main body 2 is magnetized with the N pole, and a part 9 in the vicinity of a tape axit-side edge 7 of the single-pole magnetized arcuate surface 4 on a tape exit-side side surface 6 is magnetized with the S pole, and the magnetic tape is run in these magnetic fields 10 and 11. The erasing head main body 2 forms a Gaussian curve 18. Thus, the stop noise for sound recording is reduced, and the erase rate is increased, and the distortion factor is improved. |
