<p>PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for fine machining, to improve the yield and to reduce the cost by using an optical shutter array which is made of a translucent material with electrooptic effect and deflects the optical path of incident light through the operation of an irregular electric field to perform shuttering operation. CONSTITUTION:When the irregular electric field is made to operate on the optical shutter 41 in the optical printing head used with the optical shutter array 40, a refractive index distribution is generated in the optical shutter 41 made of the translucent electrooptic material with electrooptic effect and the optical path of the incident light is deflected through the operation of the refractive index distribution. Then respective optical shutters are turned on and off by making the irregular electric field operate or not operate on the respective shutters 41 of the optical shutter array 40, thereby writing data on a photosensitive body, etc., by the optical printing head. Consequently, the driving voltage of each optical shutter can be lowered, and the machining is not necessary; and the yield is improved and the cost is reduced.</p> |
