The invention relates to an apparatus for grasping, transporting and palletising a filled sack by means of movable gripper elements. The object of the invention consists in providing an apparatus of this type, by means of which reliable grasping of the sack is ensured without consideration having to be given to the resistance to tearing of the sack material or to the manner of filling the sack and of its construction. It is, furthermore, the object of the invention that the apparatus makes possible accurate transporting and above all palletising, which is to take place with means which are of simple design and can be handled without problems. For this purpose, it is provided that the gripper elements are fingers (2, 3) which are arranged in pairs in a common horizontal or vertical plane of the sack at a distance of the sack width or length and can be moved from an extended position into a bent position which encloses the sack at least partially. <IMAGE>
