Steel laminate IC-engine gasket

The steel gasket (A) is for an IC engine. It consists of a first and a second plate (A30, A31). Each plate has a hole, corresponding with a hole (Hc) in the engine; and a bead (A30a, A31a) around the hole. The distance between first hole and bead is different from that between second hole and bead. The two beads do not engage on each other, due to the different distances. When the gasket is mounted, the surface pressure on the first bead is different from the pressure on the second bead. The plates are of different thickness and hardness, and the beads are of different width.
