A socket for a pressure hose comprises a connection member 17 and a deformable sleeve 12 and has a bore stepped to give three successively smaller diameters, the largest diameter being within the sleeve and for receiving the hose which is gripped when the sleeve is deformed radially inwardly, and an inner sealing tube 11 forced into the intermediate bore and having a chamfered end 14 in contact with the nose of the step 13a to the smallest bore, the tube also extending within the sleeve and arranged to fit within the hose. The seating of the tube may be enhanced by caulking 19 or soldering.</p> |
