PURPOSE:To eliminate the danger of scalding when a man touches a heat fixing device by mistake by performing control by a microprogram so that the temperature of the heat fixing device is detected when the cover of the device is open and a warning is generated when the temperature exceeds safety temperature for touching. CONSTITUTION:The signal of a cover opening/closing detection sensor 1 is used to detect whether the cover at the upper part of a printer is open or closed. When the opening of the cover is detected, the signal of a temperature detection sensor 4 for detecting the temperature of the heat fixing device 3 is read in. When the temperature of the heat fixing device 3 exceeds the safety temperature for human touching, a warning means 5 warns that the temperature exceeds the safety temperature. Then when the temperature of the heat fixing device 3 drops below said safety temperature, the warning is stopped. Consequently, when the man puts the hand in the printer, the danger that the hand is burnt by touching the fixing device by mistake is eliminated. |
