PURPOSE:To obtain the protective effect of an optical recording layer and to prevent the generation of exfoliation when a resin substrate is used by forming a dielectric underlying layer of an inorg. dielectric material consisting of zirconium oxide expressed by ZrO2-x (X=0.2-1.0). CONSTITUTION:The dielectric underlying layer 2 consisting of the zirconium oxide expressed by ZrO2-x (X=0.2-1.0) is formed on a transparent substrate 1 consisting of a resin and the optical recording layer 3 is formed on the dielectric underlying layer 2. A dielectric protective layer 4 consisting of the zirconium oxide expressed by ZrO2-x (X=0.2-1.0) is then formed on the optical recording layer 3 and a reflecting layer 5 is formed on this dielectric protective layer 4. The reducing Zr atoms of the zirconium oxide are thereby chemically bonded to the oxygen atoms, etc., of the polymer molecules at the boundary face of the org. substrate, by which the adhesive strength is increased and the generation of exfoliation is obviated. The reducing Zr atoms have also the protective effect of suppressing the oxidation of the optical recording layer. |
