CADMIUM NEGATIVE ELECTRODE PLATE AND ALKALINE SECONDARY CELL USING THE SAME

摘要

PURPOSE:To make it possible to obtain a cadmium negative electrode plate of excellent charging efficiency by making a specified amount of vanadium trioxide to be contained in the total amount of cadmium. CONSTITUTION:The negative electrode plate of a cell contains vanadium trioxide of 0.4-8wt.% of the total amount of cadmium. By adding vanadium trioxide in the negative electrode active material as above, the charging efficiency can be elevated. In an alkaline secondary cell using the said negative electrode plate, by adjusting the weight ratio of the positive electrode active material to the negative electrode active material the charge control can be made easy, and very high speed charging with a heavy current exceeding can be made possible. And as this cell scarcely needs cadmium hydroxide for reserve, it can be made high capacity.
