The household utensil for cutting up foodstuffs has filler opening and an interchangeable open fronted drum with cutter revolving on a horizontal axis. It is either turned by a handle manually or driven by an electric motor. The cutters are knife blades (8) which are bent in conformity with the drum and fixed in a helical form attached to the circular flange (4) of a bearer (2). A cutting shield is adjustably fitted close to the blades (8) which enables the thickness of the cut to be varied. USE/ADVANTAGE - The adjustable cutting shield allows the thickness of the cut to be varied without changing the drum.
