The ramp has a ramp plate (2) and a telescopic extension (9) both mounted on a base frame (1). A mechanical sensor (8) detects the presence of a vehicle and actuates a control circuitfor the extension reciprical motion. The sensor (8) is movably positioned on the extension. The mechanical sensor moves between an extended position, in which it sticks out beyond the free front extension edge, and an operating position, in which it is retracted behind the front edge.
