<p>PURPOSE: To provide an enteral feeder by using a gastrointestinal electromyographic signal of making possible to control an enteral feeding system by utilizing a myoelectric signal by composing of that the positioning of a feeding tube for a gastrointestinal tract is determined at a desirable ration by detecting and monitoring the electromyographic signal from a patient's gastrointestinal tract. CONSTITUTION: In the case of feeding a liquid ingesta into the upper portion of a small intestine 28 or a duodenum 26, a feeding tube 12 is inserted into the duodenum 26 so as to face a probe 16 to the duodenum 26 through a gullet 30 and a stomach 32 from a nose. Lead wires 34', 34" from a module 20 are arranged on an arm 36, and extended toward a probe 16 and then connected to electrodes 18', 18". A monitor 22 is detected by the electrodes 18', 18", an electromyographic signal dispatched from the module 20 is processed so as to be able to identify the specified characteristics of an electric action in a gastrointestinal tract. To carry out the feeding of a liquid ingesta, tubes 44, 44a from a feeder 24 are connected to arms 42, 42a. The monitor 22 controls the feeding rate of the ingesta as well as stops the feeding of the ingesta when the position of the probe 16, 16a is moved out from a predetermined place, and then dispatches an alarm.</p> |
