PURPOSE:To enable clear images free of voids to be recorded even on a receiving paper having low smoothness, by providing a thermoplastic layer comprising a specified block copolymer elastic material on a coloring agent-containing heat-fusible layer on a support. CONSTITUTION:A heat-fusible first layer 3 of, e.g., a wax, a higher fatty acid or a derivative (such as a metallic salt and an ester) thereof, polyethylene or other thermoplastic resin with a coloring agent contained therein is provided on a support 1. Next, a thermoplastic second layer 6 comprising a polystyrene- polyisoprene-polystyrene and/or a polystyrene-polybutadiene-polystyrene block copolymer and substantially not containing any coloring agent is provided. With the highly elastic material layer not containing any coloring agent thus provided at the surface of a recording medium, the medium can be brought into uniform and close contact with a rough paper under pressing by a thermal head, irrespective of the ruggedness of the rough paper. Therefore, each dot is easily reproduced even in the case of printing on a rough paper by a high- density thermal head. |
