Device 1 for supporting, holding and blocking an elongate metallic element 2 in a determined horizontal position with respect to an orthogonal reference frame Ox, Oy, Oz and for positioning metallic components 3, 3' against the said elongate element 2 at locations and with orientations which are determined with reference to the same reference frame Ox, Oy, Oz, comprising means 4 for supporting the elongate element when it is arranged substantially along the axis Oy, means 10 for lateral abutment along the axis Ox comprising a support piece 11, a piece 13 for bringing into position and for blocking, and means 15 for transversely moving the said piece 13 along Ox. The device also includes two end frames 20, 21 provided with means 27 for longitudinal displacement along the axis Oy, and means 30 for positioning metallic pieces 3 on the elongate element with reference to the reference frame Ox, Oy, Oz. <IMAGE>
